How long does FLL to PortMiami take?
About 28 miles, almost all on I-95 southbound to I-395 east, then Biscayne Boulevard and the Port Boulevard bridge. I-95 through northern Miami-Dade is one of the busiest stretches of highway in Florida, so the range is wide:
| Conditions | Typical drive |
|---|---|
| Before 7 AM or after 7 PM | 35–45 min |
| Midday, no incidents | 40–55 min |
| Weekday morning rush (7–9:30 AM) | 55–75 min |
| Crash or lane closure on I-95 | Add 20–40 min |
Our chauffeurs use the I-95 express lanes where they help — the toll is already in your price.
Where do I meet my driver at FLL?
FLL has four terminals (1–4), each with its own baggage claim on the lower level. Your chauffeur knows your terminal from your flight number.
- Meet & Greet ($40, sedan and SUV): chauffeur waits at your baggage claim with a name sign.
- Standard: collect your bags, text your chauffeur, and meet at the lower-level arrivals curb outside your terminal.
- Large groups: Sprinters and coaches use the commercial vehicle area; your chauffeur walks the group out.
What time should I leave FLL for my cruise?
Because the drive is longer and I-95 is unpredictable, give yourself more room than from MIA. Land by 10:00 AM for a typical 4:00–5:00 PM sailing, or fly in the day before.
| Your terminal check-in time | Recommended pickup from FLL (leave by) |
|---|---|
| 11:00 AM | 9:20 AM |
| 12:00 PM | 10:20 AM |
| 1:00 PM | 11:20 AM |
| 2:00 PM | 12:20 PM |
Most cruise lines give each guest a check-in (arrival) time during online check-in, and ask everyone to be aboard 60–90 minutes before sailing. These pickup times allow for a cruise-morning drive plus a 25-minute buffer for luggage drop and terminal queues.
Is FLL a good airport for a PortMiami cruise?
Often, yes. FLL can have cheaper fares, especially on low-cost carriers. The private transfer costs $37 more for a sedan than from MIA ($203 vs $166) and the drive is roughly twice as long. If the airfare saving is bigger than that difference for your party, FLL wins. Full breakdown: MIA vs FLL for a PortMiami cruise.
